What does “going the extra heat” mean to you and what motivates you to go the extra heat in your role?
Going the extra heat means many things to me. Firstly, I always listen to our customers, when I’m on the shop floor I often hear when our customers have their own problems or challenges. I go back to my team to discuss and we think about how we can help them to achieve the even better results, I am always thinking about how we can deliver new or improved solutions to the customer. This means we consistently deliver good results and are known for our reliability.
What do you enjoy most about being part of the Mayerton team?
Collaboration in Mayerton is the best part of being in the Mayerton team for me. In other companies I worked for in the past I didn’t have this experience. In Mayerton I have developed good relationships with colleagues and exceptional trust that they will support me and always have my back. If I have a challenge, I know I can call a colleague and they are always available to help, always. At Mayerton the difference I have found is that our teams share our knowledge and we feel part of the same team and I believe that this means we develop the best solutions.
How do you think your efforts make a difference to our customers?
I have 16 years experience in refractories, I help give our customers supervision and technical advice. This week I am travelling to support a customer with an ongoing challenge they have. I am confident our help and advice will result in improving a long term problem. I get a lot of satisfaction in helping our customers improve their results and business.
What’s a memorable piece of advice that shaped how you approach your work?
My advice is to start your day positively even if you have challenges, every day is a new day and keeping a positive mindset is important, remember there are always solutions, keep communicating and going forward as life doesn’t stay still, it keeps going.
What part of your role do you look forward to each day?
I look forward to being on site, working with my colleagues daily, seeing the results of our products and services. We have increased business with customers because we closely monitor everything, we are always focussed on results. I feel very happy and enjoy each day it is a good working environment with great colleagues. It makes a difference.
Anything else you wish to share
I have the best colleagues and Mayerton is a great company to be part of, very organised and they concentrate on the little details at every level. Even for mental health day I receive a care package and I always feel appreciated. Mayerton takes care of everyone in the business and supports us to do our job, I like this and feel motivated to do my best.
